Where people get caught
The pattern repeats. A free app installs in a second, works fine for a week, then meters the last days of the month down to something unusable. Or a seven day trial asks for a card, the reminder email never arrives, and the charge turns up on a statement two months later under a company name nobody recognizes.
The dull version works better. Take the free days, run them on your own connection during the hours you actually care about, in the evening when the neighborhood is streaming and the line is busiest. Then decide. If it does not hold up, you have spent an evening and no money.

Limits and things to know
- There is no permanently free tier. Five days is the trial, not a plan.
- Prices are in US dollars and are charged once per term, so a long term is a single payment and not a lower monthly bill.

01Are vpns free, honestly?
