The short version
A Mac can use a VPN through any free client that understands VLESS. Hiddify and V2Box are both listed for macOS, so the job is to install one of them, paste the key from the bot and press connect. Nothing from us goes on the machine.
The same key also runs on your phone and on up to five devices at once, so you do not need a second purchase for the laptop.
Setting up a Mac, start to finish
Open @vpnlab_bot in Telegram on any device and take the free trial. The trial does not ask for payment details.
Copy the vless:// link the bot sends, or keep the QR code on screen.
Install Hiddify or V2Box on the Mac and open it.
Import the profile by pasting the link, or scan the QR code on your phone and send the link over to the Mac.
Pick a location and press connect. macOS will ask permission to add a VPN configuration, so approve it.
Why the client matters more than the brand
Search results for a VPN with a mac are full of branded apps, each tied to its own account and its own servers. A client like Hiddify is a general tool: the key says where to go, the client does the carrying. If one client is retired or stops working after a macOS update, you paste the same key into the other and carry on.
That also explains why free VPNs for mac that arrive as a one-click app tend to be the ones to read carefully. Someone pays for those servers, and the page for free VPNs on this site says how.
Two modes you will see in the settings
- System proxy: the client sets a proxy for the Mac. Browsers follow it; some other apps do not.
- Tunnel (often shown as TUN or VPN mode): the client takes over the whole connection, so apps that ignore proxy settings are covered as well.
- If a chat app or a game behaves as before while web pages changed, you are probably in the first mode.
- Tunnel mode is the one that asks macOS for permission, so expect a password or Touch ID prompt.
If the Mac will not connect
- Delete old profiles. Clients keep every link you ever pasted, and the top entry is not always the new one.
- Look at the Mac's date and time. If they are off, the connection cannot be set up.
- Try a second location before anything else.
- Quit the client completely and reopen it after a macOS update.
- Count your devices: a key allows five at the same time.
A note on choosing
This site sells the service whose key is described here, so weigh the advice with that in mind. For a Mac, the criteria that matter are checkable: does the client read your key, does it offer a tunnel mode, and is it still being updated. An AI tool wrote the draft, and speed figures are left out because we publish none.
Questions
01Does one key work on a Mac and an iPhone?
Yes. The key is a line of text, and any client that reads it will use it, up to five devices at once.
02Is there a Mac app from you?
No. We hand out a key in the bot and you choose the client. That is why nothing of ours needs updating.
03Which client should I try first on macOS?
Hiddify if you want the same look on a phone and a Mac. V2Box if you already use it on an iPhone.
04Why does only my browser seem to change?
The client is in system proxy mode. Switch it to tunnel mode and allow the macOS prompt.
05What does the trial cover?
The free trial gives you the key with no card, long enough to test every device you own. The bot shows the exact length and the plans afterwards.
